Cottagecore interior design
A romantic, slow-living English-cottage aesthetic - florals, layered textiles, vintage finds, and a kettle always on the stove. Cottagecore frames the home as a refuge from a busy world. Rooms feel lived-in, layered, and gently faded - chintz curtains, painted wood, ironstone in the cupboard, dried flowers in jars. The look celebrates handmade objects, natural materials, and the small rituals of country life. Cottagecore as a named aesthetic emerged on Tumblr and TikTok in the late 2010s, but it draws on a much older lineage: the English country house, the Arts and Crafts movement, and the cosy interiors of Beatrix Potter and the Bloomsbury group. Its modern revival pairs vintage textiles with affordable secondhand furniture.
